Hibs' derby joy deepens Hearts misery

HEARTS lost their captain and best player yesterday, when Craig Gordon said goodbye to his team-mates and headed south for signing talks with Sunderland and Aston Villa. The Tynecastle club's supporters then suffered the double whammy of seeing their team lose the Edinburgh derby, when an early goal from Brian Kerr was enough to give Hibernian three points in what was both teams' first league match of the season.

Kerr, who scored with a header in the third minute, was the pick of a Hibs team which looked sharper and more together than their opponents. The calmness exuded by goalkeeper Yves Makalambay offered the visiting defence a reassuring contrast to the nerves displayed in the fixture by other Hibs goalkeepers.

After taking that early lead, Hibs retained the upper hand throughout, and Makalambay was only rarely called into action.

New Breakthrough Advanced Nanofiber Filtration Technology Introduced

United Air Specialists (UAS) introduces Advanced Nanofiber Filtration Technology for dust collection cartridge filters. This breakthrough technology allows UAS cartridge filters to last twice as long as cellulose and 80/20 commodity filters, cutting total dust collection costs by reducing the number of replacement filters needed, lowering maintenance cost and decreasing total energy use.

Longer filter life is a result of nanofiber's advanced surface loading capabilities. UAS filters with nanofiber technology include a surface treatment of the finest synthetic nanofibers used in any current filtration product. These fibers form a nanoscopic mesh that traps dust particles on the filter's surface, where they easily release during the cleaning cycle and lower the pressure drop over the life of the filter.

Campbell's grudging respect for 'sharp' SNP

ALASTAIR Campbell, the former spin doctor at the heart of New Labour's decade of rule in Downing Street, last night gave grudging credit to the Scottish National Party for its successful Holyrood election campaign.

Tony Blair's one-time director of communications made the concession as he ventured north of the Border to face his critics after branding the Scottish media "whingeing Jocks" in his recently published diaries.

MIRANDINHA
'We've got Mirandinha; he's not from Argentina; he's from Brazil; he's f***ing brill!' was the chant from the fans at St James' Park, which was the home of the very first Brazilian in top-flight English football in 1987.

"I have been accused in the past of being selfish. Well if I'm scoring goals for Newcastle that's just what I intend to do," said Mirandinha on his arrival in England and, true enough, his apologetic arm in the air after another wayward shot became a familar sight.
